Planning & Coaching - How it Works
Deciding to write a book (as a lead magnet) is a big step and needs careful consideration. It’s a strategy that is powerful and effective, but it takes time and commitment. This is why planning your book is critical.
One of the first things I identify with any new client is ‘are you committed?’ because there is no doubt that time and energy is needed to get this done. I don’t want to sugar coat the process and tell you it’s ‘easy’ (although with the right help and planning it’s much more straightforward.) I can’t emphasise the planning process enough – as I’ve seen a fair few books that have started out without one, and before a few weeks are up, they end up on the desktop of doom, never to be opened again!
Therefore I have two stages of planning – the first is a ‘Book Discovery Session‘, which goes through the three critical questions you need to ask before you start writing, how a book will benefit your business (or not, depending on your circumstances) and a quick questionnaire – with three take away action points for you to do before you start – so that you are really ready and confident that writing a book is for you.
The second stage of planning is the ‘Blueprint Plan Session‘ where we take all of your information from the previous session (you might not need this session if you’ve done your research and are ready to jump straight in) and we get the main backbone of your book written and in Word format, so that you can just write your way through your book.
Each session is outlined below, with the coaching option at the bottom of the page.
I’ve realised that business owners are at different stages with their book ‘idea’ and so offering comprehensive sessions for each stage is critical. You might have your book already written and ready to go, if so, just hop over to the typesetting area of our website and we can help you get your book from Word, into print ready PDF format.
Book Discovery Session – £60
Book a discovery call with me, Alexa, to talk through your ideas for a book. Whether it's your first, second, third book we'll work together to make sure you have everything you need to embark on your journey to become a published author.
What the service offers:
Via telephone or Skype, we'll talk for 60-75 minutes to determine how to progress with your dream of being an author.
As soon as you've booked your call I'll send you a brief questionnaire so I can see exactly where you're at, get a really good understanding of your business, and where a book will fit in with your services. This also makes sure the call is focused on moving you and your plans forward.
- Identify the key target market for your book.
- Determine your book's call to action.
- Confirm how your book will move your business forward as an expert in your area.
- Discuss what other services you'd benefit from to get your book ready for sale.
Following the call, I'll give you three key action points that you need to complete – in order for you to continue.
Bonus: If you decide to progress to the 'Blueprint Plan Service', you'll only pay an additional £65 as we will have set up the groundwork, ready for your plan call.
Blueprint Plan Session – £125
Our ‘Blueprint Plan Session’ walks you through the process and gives you the backbone of your book. It is produced with enough detail to make the writing process (of the content) stress free and relatively easy. In fact, once you have this plan written your book will almost write itself. But it does require some time and effort before your writing of your book can begin.
Perhaps you’ve already written a plan, but you're not sure if it’s in enough detail, or you just want another pair of eyes (someone who knows what a good plan should look like) to take a look and make sure it covers everything it needs too? Well this planning service will make sure that it is.
What the service offers:
- A brainstorm of what you want your book to do
- Making sure you’ve identified your target reader
- We identify your call to action (what you want the reader to do once they’ve read the book)
- An actual plan of your book – this is your whole book, mapped out ready for you to fill in the blanks
- A schedule for writing your plan/or if you’ve written one, an overview of its content.
You will get an initial call with me (usually 30 mins) to discuss where you’re at, then a second planning call (approx 75 mins) where we map out your book and you have your blueprint ready for you to fill in and get writing.
Writing a book can seem daunting – but with support, accountability and guidance you may be surprised at how easy it is.
You CAN take your writing dream and make it into a reality.
I’ve helped over 50+ business owners (who find writing a challenge or a chore) write a book that has helped position them as the ‘only logical choice‘ to their prospective clients. Writing a book as a way of getting qualified leads is one of the most effective ways to advertise your back end services and over 75% of my clients achieve over £15,000 of additional income because of their book.
However, it does take planning (mentioned above) and commitment, and doing this on your own can be challenging.
This is why I offer a monthly coaching programme, especially designed for busy business owners who need help. I give one on one support, right from the beginning, and together we then produce a highly professional, properly printed book – ready to work for you and bring in highly targeted leads. All you need to do is follow my plan, finish the writing assignments I set each week and then you hand the Word document over to me – and I DO THE REST!
My team and I work with business owners like you, who want to become an ‘expert’ within your niche and to write and use a book to generate high-quality sales leads and grow their business, fast.
Monthly Book Coaching – from £375 a month
This is what we cover;
- Establishing the book's contents and creating a ‘blueprint’ of your book (this part of the service is covered in your monthly fee) including:
Getting a clear picture of your target audience (reader)
Setting a clear ‘call to action’ – and what you want the book to do once the reader has read it.
- Setting up a timetable of writing and setting achievable writing goals, so that you keep the project moving forwards.
- On going support – and regular feedback to new material written
- Weekly calls to make sure you’re staying on track
With this coaching support, you stay on top of your writing goals, have someone hold you accountable (the single most influencing aspect of getting a large project finished) and on going support and feedback to make sure you’re on the right track.
The fee for this service will be charged before your first strategy call, and billed every month.
